Free Books Available Nov 1, 2012, plus some excellent reductions

WELCOME!!!
Please see the sidebar at right for a quick explanation of this blog. Have fun getting new books! :)

Today is going to be a little different.  I am just posting the non-fiction books, plus the one fiction and 4 reductions that I received notification for from the book-watching program I use.  I am doing a big cooking day for two families dealing with cancer and some for our own freezer, so don't have the extra time for looking through all the other fiction.  If I do have time later I will try to do it, but today it just has to take second place.

Please do check right to the bottom for the reductions.  I am quite amazed that there are four such great titles at such significant reductions!

NONFICTION

General self-sufficiency and survival
"It's Not My Mountain Anymore"
“From the heart of the famous Foxfire Books country and the heart of a Foxfire veteran,” Excellent reviews. “Set in the heart of our beloved Foxfire Book country in the North Georgia Mountains and written from the heart of a Foxfire veteran. Barbara Taylor Woodall's authentic mountain voice willl moisten eyes and bring plenty of laughter, appreciation, love and loss to reader's hearts. Visit a vanishing Appalachian culture and taste the harsh realities of change. Sales support mountain culture preservation.”

Most homesteading types will recognize the Foxfire Books reference, and if you don't, here's a description. "With nearly 9 million copies in print, The Foxfire Book and its eleven companion volumes stand memorial to the people and the vanishing culture of the Southern Appalachian Mountains, brought to life for readers through the words of those who were born, lived their lives, and passed away there—words collected by high school students who wanted to be a part of their community and preserve their heritage. All 12 volumes in the regular series are anthologies of Foxfire Magazine articles written by Rabun County high school students over the magazine's 40-year history, usually expanded through follow-up interviews and other research."  Here's a link to see them.
